About me

Howdy, I'm Ryan Trammell. I'm a sixth-generation Texan, born in 1981 in a small house in Denton, and my family's roots here go back to the Republic of Texas.

I spent my career in law enforcement, and I served as an officer with the Charlottesville Police Department. I'm retired now, but never idle. These days I call myself an author, a thinker, and a builder.

I write children's books, I'm working on a memoir and a family history, and I take a lot of pictures of the land and life around me. My faith keeps me grounded, and I believe in freedom, self-reliance, and saying things plainly.

Home is the Texas Hill Country, where my wife Shannon and I are building Texas Heritage Farms, raising quail and a family legacy. She keeps me steady, and none of this happens without her.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a look around.
